Hybrid Training in Richmond, VA

Fall 2021

  • Online training: October 11, 2021 – November 5, 2021
    In-person Practicum: November 11-12, 2021 in Richmond, VA
  • Cost:  $750/person
    CEUs: Available from NCCAP, NCCDP
    Registration: Closed – contact to inquire
  • Both the online course and the in person practicum must be completed to receive OMA Facilitator certification.

Future training options will also be held in Richmond, Roanoke, Tidewater, and Northern Virginia in 2022/2023. The virtual training takes approximately 12-15 hours to be completed at trainees’ own pace within a 4-week period. The two-day practicum is a hands-on application of concepts learned in the virtual training and is mandatory for certification. 

Spring 2022

  • Online training: February 7, 2021 – March 4, 2022
    In-person Practicum: March 17-18, 2022 in Richmond, VA
  • Cost:  $750/person

  • Both the online course and the in person practicum must be completed to receive OMA Facilitator certification.

  • Both the online course and the in person practicum must be completed to receive OMA Facilitator certification.

NCCAP CEUs Scripps Gerontology Center at Miami University is an approved continuing education provider. Certificates with NCCAP approval number will be provided at the end of the training.

NCCDP CEUs Miami University, the organization supervising both of the above training programs, is a Certified Sponsor of professional continuing education with the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners and International Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners for members holding certifications as CDP, CDCM and CADDCT. CEUs can be earned by attending sessions at Miami’s Opening Minds Through Art Facilitator Training. Conference participants will be eligible to receive up to 20.5 CEUs for attending the full training.
